Guidelines and Policies at Soham Yoga School
At Soham Yoga School we are committed to creating an environment of peace discipline and spiritual growth for all our students. To keep our educational teachings intact as well as a satisfactory experience for all the participants we have proposed a set of rules and regulations at Soham Yoga School. These guidelines are designed to support your personal and spiritual transformation during your Yoga journey. Let us know what the rules and regulations at Soham Yoga School do.
Prerequisites for Participation
Success in yoga requires dedication, commitment, and self-discipline. Instructors are obligated to provide students with the highest level of motivational support and to engage them fully in all aspects of the program. Yoga is not only about exercise but also about the emotional and spiritual aspects. To take full advantage of the program, participants must:
- Be willing to participate in all activities, including yoga, yoga classes, and workshops.
- Follow a style of yoga that avoids meat, fish, eggs, caffeine, alcohol, tobacco and drugs.
- Take time and make an effort to develop as an individual, with total commitment to all of the activities put in place to encourage integral well-being.
- Breaching of these principles can lead to exclusion from the program since they are the core of our teaching excellence.
Training & Skills of Students
In every aspect of life, Soham Yoga School upholds the values of justice, compassion, and respect. Our Rules and Regulations at Soham Yoga School are intended to give every student a hassle-free, stress-free environment. The following guidelines must be followed while you are there:
- No alcohol or smoking: It is not permitted to consume alcohol or smoke anywhere on the property. We advocate for a clean and healthy program of life for all students.
- Dietary Guidelines: Following the yogic way of life, you are restricted from eating meat, fish, eggs, caffeine, alcohol, tobacco, and drugs on your sojourn.
- Fasting and Special Diets: When on a fasting regime or limited diet, please inform the kitchen staff beforehand so that the necessary facilities can be secured. This is for reducing food spoilage and getting appropriate food.
- Respect for Teachers and Peers: Respect for your teachers, fellow students, and the school environment is essential. Always maintain a respectful attitude and approach to your practice and your interactions with others.
- Be on time: The guidelines state that all scheduled activities, such as yoga, lectures or group classes, must start at the designated time. Being late disrupts the flow and affects the experience for others.
- Cleanliness: The school also expects everyone to keep the place clean. This rule is about more than just staying sterile—it’s about being disciplined and cleaning things up while you practice.
Financial Guidelines and Responsibilities
Review Soham Yoga School’s financial and accommodation policies, covering payment terms, non-refundable fees, debts, and guest provisions. Adherence ensures a smooth experience for enrolled students throughout the Yoga Teacher Training and Reatreats .
- Payment Terms: The total cost of your yoga program will be payable on arrival at Soham Yoga School. We do not offer instalment plans or partial payments. Kindly ensure that all fees are paid in full before the start of the program.
- No Refund Policy: Please be informed that after making the payment, it shall be non-refundable. We know that emergencies may develop and in those cases, students may attend future sessions, however, no refund will be given for the cancellation of any session.
- Debts and Pending Payments: Dues must be paid off before departure and any borrowed equipment, including yoga mat(s), books, or props, must be returned in working condition.
- Accommodation Guidelines: Accommodation is reserved only for enrolled students. Family members/friends are prohibited from residing in student rooms. However, additional rooms may be rented if required. Please notify the school of any further provisions you have before you come.
Attendance and Program Participation
Every session, such as lectures, asana practice, meditation, and group sessions, must be attended by all students. Active participation in these sessions is critical to your growth and learning. It is equally important, of course, to keep to all the scheduled visits, spiritual talks (Satsangs) and other planned activities to improve the quality of your stay.
- Mandatory Participation: All activities including yoga classes, meditation, workshops, and group discussions, need to be undertaken to ensure the complete benefit of the program.
- Silent Hours and Reflection Time: Silent hours, prescribed to the yogic way of life, will be observed, to facilitate both introversion and the act of meditation. We request that you observe these contemplative silences to gain more complicity with your inner being.
- Health and Well-Being: Yoga is more than just a physical activity; it is a way of life to optimize mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. We plead with you to pay attention to your body during the program and let your instructor know of any medical condition or issue you have had. This helps us to deliver to you the help and advice you need and deserve while you are in practice.
- Physical Health and Safety: Perform within the limits of your ability and do not overexert on asana practice. When you have pain or discomfort, please tell the instructor right away.
- Mental and Emotional Well-Being: Yoga is also about nurturing the mind and emotions. If you develop emotional difficulties during the practice, do not hesitate to let your teachers know, they are ready to help you.
Refund and Exchange Policy
Soham Yoga School helps students grow by having clear rules about fees that can’t be refunded, handling emergencies, and finishing courses. Our caring teachers create a positive space for learning, healing, and personal growth.
- Non-Refundable Fees: Fees are non-refundable once paid. Soham Yoga School helps students grow by having clear rules about fees that can’t be refunded, handling emergencies, and finishing courses. Our caring teachers create a positive space for learning, healing, and personal growth. If something unexpected happens and a student can’t come to a planned class, they can join the class at a later time. The company would not refund the money they had spent. This rule may sound tough but it is most importantly the only way to keep the policy fair and consistent. If you decide to withdraw from the program before it is completed, no refunds or transfers will be made and it is your responsibility to make this decision.
- Emergency Permission: In the event of an emergency, students will (of course) engage in discussions regarding alternative accommodations with the school administration; however, these discussions will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
- Final Note: Our Commitment to Your Growth
At Soham Yoga School, we are deeply committed to fostering your personal development and evolution as a yogi. By adhering to the aforementioned principles and guidelines, you contribute to the creation of an environment dedicated to learning, healing and transformation. Our faculty will support you throughout your journey, ensuring that you have the most enriching experience possible during your time with us.
